Don’t be fooled by Mia Barone’s smile out on the mound.
On second thought, it explains a lot. Opposing batters get fooled by Barone’s pitches and her coaches smile back at her.
Millersville University head coach Jen Probst and her assistants have plenty to beam about as well after the Jersey Outlaws Gold right-hander gave a verbal commitment to be part of the Mauraders’ 2021 recruiting class. Barone will be a senior at Neshaminy High School this fall and then stay in-state to attend the Pennsylvania Division II school.
Barone has been one of the most-improved Outlaws since joining the squad two years ago, using an assortment of pitches which include a curve, screw, drop, rise and fastball. Her resiliency and fun-loving style are infectious to teammates.
Barone is interested in a physical therapy major.
