One of the first points the Jersey Outlaws Premier coaches made after the Nightmare October Fest Showcase on Sunday was to praise the contributions up and down their team’s lineup and across the pitching staff.
Quality play is contagious.
A team doesn’t get off to a 22-2-1 start without having its depth shine through regularly, as the Outlaws’ did in the rain-shortened October Fest. They went 3-0 by defeating the Burlington Sting Gold, 4-1, Connecticut Eliminators Showcase, 9-1, and Long Island Pride Gold, 4-2.
In the pulsating nightcap, the Outlaws overcame a 2-1 deficit with a run in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth on RBIs by Megan Berg and Gigi Venizelos. Haylei Archer earned the win in relief of Amanda Gonzalez, who worked the first five innings.
The Outlaws wrap up their fall campaign next weekend at the Blue Chip Fall Finale in Voorhees.
